WTO: Algeria ranked 42nd exporter and 56th world importer

ALGIERS- World Trade Organization (WTO) has ranked Algeria 42nd exporter and 56th importer in world trade rankings. In its 2009 report on international trade statistics made public Monday in Geneva, the WTO stresses that with goods exports (98.8% of which hydrocarbons), valued at USD79.3 billion in 2008, Algeria ranks 42nd world exporter, and participates by 0.49% of world goods exports. World ranking has been made on the basis of exports value achieved by each country. The international organization also stressed that with imports of USD39.48 billion recorded in 2008 the country ranks fifth worldwide, with a share of 0.24% of world imports.
