ALGIERS- Algeria is "not ready to make concessions on the recurrent question about gas price" in the national market, posed by the European Union (EU) and the World Trade Organization (WHO), Trade Minister El Hachemi Djaaboub affirmed on Wednesday. In reply to a question on the disagreement between Algeria and the EU with respect to the marketing of Algerian fertilizers in the European market, Djaaboub told reporters that "gas price issue is a question posed by the EU and the WHO, and about which Algerian is not ready to make concessions." In 2007, Algeria started negotiations with the EU for the abolition of anti-dumping tax imposed by European countries on the fertilizers produced by the Algerian company "Fertial," under the pretext that energy (gas) price in that industry is subsidized.
